Real Thread Sustainability Efforts

Standard Embroidery uses basic thread/yarn and the final result lays nearly flat on your chosen garment. It’s our most commonly used option and is probably what comes to mind first when you think of embroidery. 

Metallic embroidery is unique in that the thread actually consists of a rubber core wrapped in metallic thread. Best used as an accent element in your design rather than the main feature.

Puff embroidery is where things start to get interesting. Puff uses a thick, foam-like material that is then stitched over, resulting in designs that pop off the garment and create a 3D effect.

Patches are a great way to add a detailed and complex design to hats, bags, sweatshirts, jackets, and other apparel items. They come in various styles, including embroidered, chenille, woven, leather, and PVC.

Our Bold ink is a high-opacity water-based ink that creates a slightly thicker print than SuperSoft. While it has a bit of a feel to it, the results are an exceptionally vibrant print across all fabric colors and blends.

Vintage effects can be achieved by combining artwork texturing and specific ink choices, and softening colors to create a washed and worn appearance. Over time, this treatment results in a soft, aged look that enhances the vintage feel.

Heat transfer is a method of applying designs or images to garments and hats using special transfer paper and heat-sensitive ink. 

This method achieves a photo-realist look when it uses complex designs or images. Sublimation is a vibrant, permanent print that does not crack or fade over time.

Vinyl transfers are great for precise and intricate designs. The design shape can be cut from a wide range of color vinyl transfers. 

We break down our three main ink styles for custom printing: Super Soft, Bold, and Vintage.

Depending on the print result you’re going for, one may serve your needs better than the other—but you can rest assured that all three will give you a lasting print that will be soft to the touch and won’t crack or peel.

SuperSoft is the right choice for you when you want a lightweight print that is incredibly soft and pliable. The print will last a long time and won’t flake or crack over time. The clarity of details in the print will be phenomenal, though colors won’t be quite as intense as Bold printing.

This decorative type of ink literally soaks into the shirt fabric instead of sitting on top of it.

Since the ink actually re-dyes the fabric rather than sitting on top of it, you won’t feel the print on the shirt at all after a single wash.

Vibrancy is slightly reduced by the ink settling into the fibers of the shirt, picking up fabric textures. 

Colors will be close to the selected Pantone color, but not exact due to the natural blending of ink and fabric.

You can print SuperSoft ink on any fabric type, including dark shirts. However, keep in mind that colors won’t be quite as punchy as our Bold ink and the colors can vary from one fabric to another. Softer feel, less color consistency across fabrics.

The lack of the "underbase" in the printing process means designs retain greater detail and definition.

Our Bold ink is a high-opacity water-based ink that creates a slightly thicker print than SuperSoft. 

Bold ink is the best option when you want incredibly vibrant colors that seem to jump off the shirt. However, it is slightly heavier and thicker in feel than SuperSoft and won’t be quite as pliable. It works on any fabric blend though, meaning your results will be consistent, right down the Pantone you’ve selected for your design.

This heavier, more durable water-based ink sits on top of the shirt for exceptional vibrancy, but still doesn't crack or fade.

Since the ink isn’t fully absorbed into the fabric, your print will have a little bit of a feel to it. Still smooth, not scratchy.

Exceptional brightness and vibrancy, providing a burst of vibrant color on any shirt type or color.

Pantone color matching is accurate and consistent.

You can print Bold ink on just about any fabric blend and have it look exceptional and consistent across the blends. Pick the shirt you like best and get started.
